AXPC names Mark Bednar as Vice President of Communications

WASHINGTON – January 4, 2024 – Today, the American Exploration & Production Council (AXPC), the trade group of America’s leading independent oil and natural gas producers, welcomed Mark Bednar as Vice President of Communications. Bednar joins AXPC from the Office of the 55th Speaker of the House, Kevin McCarthy, where he served as head of communications.

“Mark’s experience at the forefront of the country’s policy development will help AXPC advance our mission of promoting responsible policies that support American families, businesses, energy workers, and the environment,” said AXPC CEO Anne Bradbury. “He firmly believes that our nation is stronger and the world is safer when America is the global leader in oil and natural gas production, and he’s committed to advancing American energy leadership and development.”

As head of communications, Bednar led message development, media relations, and strategic communications for the Office of the Speaker. He brings broad communications experience across Capitol Hill, political campaigns, and issue advocacy. Bednar earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Arts degree in public policy from Johns Hopkins University.
