Matt Schafle joined AXPC as Vice President of Government Affairs in August 2026. He brings more than 15 years of experience shaping federal policy and advancing legislative priorities across Congress and the Executive branch. Most recently, Matt worked for the U.S. Department of the Interior where he led the Office of Congressional and Legislative Affairs. In this role, Matt advised the Secretary on congressional and legislative matters, serving as the Department’s top liaison to Capitol Hill. Matt was responsible for leading the Senate confirmation process for the Department’s many nominees. Prior to joining the Administration, he was the Managing Director of Federal Affairs for the NRA’s Institute for Legislative Action. Matt began his career with the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources, where he served two chairmen and held multiple positions, including Director of Coalitions and Member Services.
