AXPC Urges the House to Pass Rep. Pfluger’s Unlocking Domestic LNG Potential Act to Unleash American Energy

November 18, 2025

Washington, D.C. – The American Exploration & Production Council (AXPC) today urged members of the House to vote in favor of Representative August Pfluger’s Unlocking Domestic LNG Potential Act (H.R. 1949). The legislation streamlines the permitting process for job-creating U.S. LNG exports by removing redundant Department of Energy reviews for projects benefiting non-free trade agreement countries.

Parker D. Kasmer, AXPC Vice President of Government Affairs, said:

On behalf of America’s leading independent producers of oil and natural gas, we commend Representative August Pfluger’s ongoing leadership to unleash American energy. U.S. LNG exports are vital, strategic assets that strengthen our domestic economy and advance our national security interests. Coupled with comprehensive, durable permitting reform, this bill would provide the regulatory predictability necessary to bolster American energy production and unlock critical infrastructure development. AXPC urges the House to pass the Unlocking Domestic LNG Potential Act.
