Washington, D.C. – Today, American Exploration & Production Council (AXPC) CEO Anne Bradbury praised the House Natural Resources Committee for holding a hearing on the SPEED Act, a bipartisan bill that would modernize the environmental review process for energy projects under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and end permitting lawfare. In a new video released by AXPC, leaders from an American independent producer highlight why passing reforms included in the SPEED Act are essential to fix the nation’s broken permitting system.
Anne Bradbury, AXPC CEO, said:
“The SPEED Act is exactly the kind of common-sense, bipartisan breakthrough we need to help fix our broken permitting system and secure America’s energy future. By modernizing NEPA and ending the litigation abuse that strangles energy development across projects, this legislation takes critical steps to unleash all energy projects needed to power our economy, deliver reliable, affordable energy for families, and outcompete China in the AI race. We applaud Chairman Westerman for holding today’s hearing and look forward to working with the committee to advance these durable reforms.”
