AXPC Statement on Bipartisan Permitting Reform Bill

Washington, DC – Today, the American Exploration & Production Council CEO Anne Bradbury released the following statement after Senate Energy & Natural Resources Chairman Joe Manchin (I-WV) and Ranking Member John Barrasso (R-WY) introduced the Energy Permitting Reform Act of 2024:

“In order for the American economy to compete on the global stage in the twenty-first century, we need to develop infrastructure projects that support the rising demand for energy. That’s why AXPC is proud to support Chairman Manchin and Ranking Member Barrasso’s permitting reform bill, as it would end the Biden-Harris administration’s LNG export approval ban and streamline leasing and permitting for energy projects on federal lands.”

“While there are still provisions in other committee jurisdictions that should be addressed, this legislation is an essential first step in meaningful permitting reform.”
