AXPC Statement on EPA’s Final Revisions To GHG Reporting Program

Washington, DC – Today, American Exploration & Production Council CEO Anne Bradbury issued the following statement after the Environmental Protection Agency announced final revisions to the Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Reporting Program for the oil and gas sector:

“AXPC supports the EPA’s Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program and believe that it is in the best interest of all stakeholders for the emissions inventory data to be as reliable of an estimation of annual oil and natural gas GHG emissions as possible.

“While we recognize and appreciate the broad ways that the final rule incorporates best-available data, some finalized provisions give us pause – requiring exaggerated, inaccurate emissions reporting puts American oil and natural gas at a competitive disadvantage when it is among the cleanest production in the world.”

“While we are still reviewing the final rule, we hope to continue to work with the administration to continue improving the accuracy of emissions reporting and responsibly reducing emissions while providing the American people and the world with the energy they need.”
