Anne Bradbury Named CEO of American Exploration & Production Council

Longtime Capitol Hill Leadership Aide Takes Helm at Pivotal Time for U.S. Energy Producers

Washington – On behalf of its 29 U.S. independent oil and natural gas producing members, the American Exploration & Production Council (AXPC) today announced that longtime Capitol Hill leadership aide Anne Bradbury will serve as its new CEO, effective immediately.

“Anne’s unparalleled knowledge of Congress, particularly her reputation for forging bipartisan consensus and coalitions, makes her a natural choice to lead our organization at a pivotal time for American energy,” said Rick Muncrief, Chairman and CEO of WPX Energy and AXPC Board Chairman. “Our member companies represent the innovators who are responsible for the record U.S. production that is meeting growing global energy demand. Anne’s leadership will help us achieve even more as we continue to deliver energy to American consumers.”

Bradbury will lead all aspects of AXPC’s federal public policy efforts, advocating for regulations and policies that will enable U.S. independent producers to continue leading the world in energy development that meets the highest environmental and safety standards.

“I’m thrilled to join AXPC at a time when America’s energy revolution – driven by shale technology innovations – is providing record economic and environmental benefits across the country,” Bradbury said. “AXPC’s members work tirelessly to produce energy safely and responsibly, and I look forward to working with our member companies to position AXPC as the voice for independent American operators.”

Bradbury served as one of the top legislative strategists and technicians in Congress as Floor Director to two successive Speakers of the House of Representatives and Deputy Floor Director in the Offices of both the Majority and Minority Leader. During her decade-long career on Capitol Hill, Bradbury was instrumental in the implementation and adoption of major rules packages and legislative initiatives ranging from reforms to national security and intelligence policy to health care, energy, transportation, trade, and education policy passed by the House of

Representatives. Bradbury most recently served as a partner at the Duberstein Group.

Former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan commented on Bradbury’s hire saying: “No challenge is too great or problem too complex for Anne Bradbury. Everyone who has had the pleasure of working with Anne quickly comes to respect and trust her. That’s because she is as genuine as she is smart. Anne is always able to see the big picture without losing sight of the details, and few have a better understanding of how Congress works.”

Bradbury succeeds V. Bruce Thompson, who has served as the head of AXPC for 11 years. AXPC Board Chairman Muncrief said, “We want to thank Bruce for his service and dedication to AXPC, and for being a tireless advocate for America’s oil and natural gas producers.”
